The Adventurous 11th month

The school first noticed some spot on your tummy and there was a brief panic if it was Hand Foot Mouth Disease. Soon it became clear as you started scratching them that it was the much dread Chicken Pox! I do feel for you my baby. You have been falling sick quite frequently in this new school and I cannot imagine the pain and itch you must be going through. Hence for the entire time we isolated ourselves at home, you have often cried in despair and burrowed yourself into my arms for comfort.

You are looking a little different again from last month. You continued to be blessed with short wispy hair, you still look like a little boy with beautiful big brown eyes. I enjoyed throwing you up in the air and watching your face lit up in glee. You are such a smiley baby and currently absolutely in love with your unicorn rattle toy. Mummy is keeping all these toys that you adore in a big box to show them all to you when you are grown up!

We started looking for a permanent home for the family this month. We have been bringing you along to charm the pants off home owners so we might get a discount or two. The Singapore where you are growing in is a very competitive society. A huge factor of consideration when moving between estates is the quality and types of education institutions available in the proximity. At your age, both Daddy and Mummy should be choosing an estate which has a good primary school that you can attend 6 years later. However, we are going to follow our hearts this time round and you might have to make do with whatever schools that are in the vicinity!

This month, we celebrated Singapore National Day in Daddy's office! It was the first time watching the fireworks with you in our arms. We were all dressed in red, waving the Singapore flag, and enjoying the celebrations as a family!

Mummy and Bat Girl!

In school, the adventurous you started exploring slides while still being a little uncertain. You have been holding on to the sides of gym blocks and learning how to walk, rocking from side to side. Within 10 days of familiarising yourself with the school slide, you started walking up the slide and climbing down the stairs! You have also successfully navigated the colourful play tunnel! As for the gym blocks, clearly walking seems a little too boring, you started scaling them like rock climbing walls now. At home, you have been holding on to Daddy's hands and practicing walking up and down the aisle.

We celebrated your first Teacher's Day in school dressed up as superhero. Here is a photo of you and Mummy in a batgirl outfit!

We visited the bird park for the first time in your life. You would not remember any of it but Mummy would like you to know that you were mesmerised by the penguins and love the flamingos! Just like before, you were entranced by the vast swathes of trees and the foliage all around us. We hope you grow up to appreciate nature and care for it.

XOXO,

Mummy and Daddy
