14th Month - A Whole New World!

Dear Sweet Pea,

This is a month filled with sensory discoveries!

We completely skipped the "sippy cup" stage and dived right into drinking from a straw cup. Drinking water is now officially fun as you are taking every opportunity to drink from the straw. The number of requests each day to hold on to your own cup is staggering.

You have become curious about the black four-legged creature that hover around you while sniffing different parts of your tiny body every now and then. You are finally comfortable enough to extend your affection to our little fur kid by kissing and patting Diffy every so often. The attraction between the both of you is mutual as you are constantly dropping food scraps and Diffy is consistently out on a treasure hunt looking out for snacks and treats. In fact, you have also discovered Diffy's interest in teething rusks and have been supplying her your own biscuits when we were not looking.

Speaking of food, tomato chicken porridge is the hot favourite on the menu this month where you would never fail to finish up everything in the bowl. I am more than happy for you to stuff yourself silly as you have finally taken a real serious interest in food, that sustenance that keeps you alive. On November 9, you ate non home-cooked food for the first time. It was Fish and Chips from Tripizza located at the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. I personally found it very befitting considering you are half Aussie. You were instantly delighted by the crisp and soft texture of the fish while your parents finished up most of the potato nuggets. I love having you because one can only purchase kid's meal when dining in with children below the age of 12! Mummy is a happy girl!

One final picture at our soon-to-be old place

You had your very first encounter with the water fountain at Raffles City Shopping Centre and is now clearly bewitched by the rhythmic jets of water.

You are now able to pronounce "papa" properly! When Mummy asks for a kiss, you will open up your mouth and present me with a sloppy kiss while uttering "ah...muah". You also love to put your fingers in your mouth now.

You love standing up in your bed and getting pushed everywhere. Yes, we pushed the entire crib from the bedroom to the kitchen, to the living room and to the other bedroom to keep your constrained as we went about our daily tasks. Talk about lazy parents!

Your favourite game of the month is taking out the wooden panel from the bedroom skirting and half crawling and running away with it. We have been listening to a lot of Chinese Nursery Rhymes this month and one of your favourite is 手指家庭!

Perhaps the most significant event this month is that we sold our little apartment off. This was the apartment where Mummy found out she was first pregnant with you and also the first place you called home. Before handing it over to the new owners, we went in to pose for one last photo on November 29. Next year, we will move into a house with space for growth and for you to run around.

Towards the end of your 14th month and the morning of Dec 5, you started to say "Oh No" like a broken record throughout the day. I cannot wait to see when you are going to start babbling non stop like your Mummy!

Love,

Mummy and Daddy
